One of the game hits at SPIEL in Essen 2012 was Robinson Crusoe. The cooperative adventure game lets players take on the role of castaways stranded on an uninhabited island. Their goal is to build a settlement, protect themselves from danger and complete their mission.

During the game you have to discover new terrain, acquire resources and find the best place for a camp. Once you have found it, you can build a shelter to protect yourself against rain, cold and wind, and build a fence around it to keep out the wild animals, before you start looking for food and start stocking up for the winter. On the island you will also find clues about the fate of the other castaways and hidden treasures. The huts of the natives can also be searched for useful things. Last but not least, you also have to make your own inventory, from a simple cooking pot to the necessary weapons. The game contains six different scenarios.
